"Don't Let Me Down"

This song is in my head a lot while being at home with two crazy toddlers. It runs through my head as I dramatically imagine my husband coming home early and saving me and I lay on the floor covered in baby spit and snot and the kids hanging all over me screaming their heads off. Its kind of a funny image, even though its not that far off. But it is a powerful song. I think a lot of people can relate to it in their own way to help them power through this work out.
This is a leg workout. Try to stay in a squat at much as you can during this song.

"Before He Cheats" Aerobic Dance

Honestly I have been struggling a lot with anxiety and depression lately but there is one constant thing that helps. For me that is dancing. On my zumba days I feel just a little better. I am able to handle things a little better. Not only the dancing but the people I dance with our amazing. I've always had a lot of social anxiety but slowly these women I dance with I am comfortable around. It feels really good to have a place to escape the pressure of motherhood, church responsibilities, chores. Its a good place to let go. To get some of the frustration out.

This dance is a good one for me to push the frustration out. While doing this dance I like to tense up all my muscles and push as if pulling myself through water. Its fun too. It's one of my favorite songs so I jam out to it all day long. I hope you can let out your frustrations and struggles out with this song. If not, have fun!

Here is my newest dance to "Jumpin' Jack" by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. This one is really fun and it gets me out of breath every time! There is so much bouncing around I have a hard time keeping my coin skirt in the right place, HaHa! I hope you like it.

"What Does the Fox Say"

Right before summer vacation I decided to choreograph a routine to this song for all the kids that were going to start coming to our zumba class. They all really loved it! :D It is one of my favorites because it really makes me sweat.
Something I like to do to make my workout even better is I do all my songs with weights. So if you are ever feeling like you are just not getting enough of a workout that really helps. I used to wear ankle weights along with holding weights until one song I kicked really hard and the ankle weight broke and sprayed sand all over the place! So be careful if you use weights, you don't want to accidently throw a weight at your TV! Husband T is always really worried about that. ;P

"Zombie Song"

One day as I was listening to my brothers wedding CD I came across this zombie song. It cracked me up! I thought it was so hilarious I listened to it a few more times. I decided I had to choreograph something to this song so that I would have an excuse to listen to it a million and half more times! I like to use this routine as a warm up.

"Pure Energy" instead of High Fructose Corn Syrup

Here is the dance I choreographed to "Pure Energy" when my Zumba class had an 80's day. So much fun! We looked hilarous :D

I have been trying to learn more about what foods are good and bad because sometimes it is hard to tell. I have learned that high fructose corn syrup is something to try and avoid. My new goal is to work on finding foods that are high fructose corn syrup free.

Roar

Here is the first dance I choreographed back in 2013 when I first started teaching with my zumba group. Its goofy but so much fun! It has really helped me stay fit by finding something I love doing. It doesn't have to be dancing, but find something you love. It will make getting fit so much better.  I chose this song because it gave me motivation to keep going and to be awesome. HEAR ME ROAR! :P

Just Keep Going!

After little J was born I got pretty frustrated with exercising. Before I got pregnant with her I had gotten to the point where I craved a good exercise. I loved it! But after she was born I felt like I was starting all over again. After doing a good workout I was tired and I felt like I couldn't take care of my kids as well. I didn't want to give up being a good mom for doing a workout that left me exhausted, sore, and irritated. This is the point where most people stop trying. But I remembered how good it used to feel and I wanted to get there again. Unfortunately it took months before my workouts started making me feel better rather than worse. I know that is not very encouraging. But just know that if you just keep going you will get there. And once you are there you are there! Its worth it! If you feel discouraged thinking that you will never be one of those people with more energy after a workout, or better moods, you will. It just takes time. The greatest things take the most work. Keep going! :D

I help teach Zumba that is Monday through Thursday at 5:30 a.m. if you want to come dance and have fun while having a great workout! It is free and awesome. Leave a note if you want any details!
